Andrew Lam is a Vietnamese American journalist and writer popularly known for his essays about the Overseas Vietnamese experience. As a journalist, he serves as a web editor at New America Media, a regular contributor to National Public Radio’s All Things Considered, and lastly a regular writer on Huffington Post.

His 2005 book titled Perfume Dreams won him the 2006 PEN/Beyond Margins Award. He has published several best-selling books including Perfume Dreams (2005), and East Eats West (2010) among others. From 2001 to 2002 Lam was at Stanford University as John S. Knight Journalism Fellow.
